Carving out my own piece of the web
I have several intentions for this project:
- Aid in recovery from corporate culture induced burnout, accelerated by GenAI slop and lobotomies in the workplace. I have resisted usage and dependency on these tools, doubling down on retaining my own critical thinking skills and intellectual agency.
- Act of rebellion against social media and large corporations. I haven't had social media (except for LinkedIn, which I would love to discontinue) for a while now, but miss having a space for me to share.
- Recapturing the love for websites I had as a child, building Geocities and Neopets spaces.
- Forming a space for a blog, commonplace book, or digital garden. Capturing interests over time. I'd especially love to capture different projects over time here.
I'm Ivy, scientist and corporate tech drone, currently living in New England (US). Always trying to find balance in life, I want to do it all, all the time, but I'm also exhausted, all the time.
